city of Semarang. Marba Building was built in the mid-19th century,
situated in the old town Jl. Lt Gen Suprapto No. 33 Semarang, who was
named De Heeren Street. Consisting of 2 floors with wall thickness of
about 20 cm. Named Marba because the building was initiated by Marta
Badjunet, a wealthy cloth merchant in those days and came from Yemen,
whose name was shortened to marba. red building with jumbo-sized doors
and windows was originally used as a shipping business office, (EMKL)
and was also the department stores 'zikel'. marba building now serves
only as a warehouse. These buildings included in the list of cultural
heritage city of Semarang.
